Ourika Lodge, The Healing Place

Ours is a small independently-owned boutique Riad. With fresh clean air and our organically produced food for breakfast and optional lunch & dinner, Ourika Lodge is the ideal place to reconnect with yourself.

Location

Located on top of one of the oldest Jewish villages in Morocco called Anrar, the lodge enjoys a great panoramic view of the Ourika valley and at night you can see the city lights in the distance. We are only 45 minutes' drive away from the city center, the Marrakech medina.

This is an authentic pottery-making traditional village applying centuries-long techniques, and you will be exploring the lifestyle of the local population as they bake bread and maintain their ancient customs.

Accommodations

Ourika Lodge has 6 uniquely decorated bedrooms (all en-suite with shower & toilets) and a private apartment with direct access to the landscaped garden with its flowers and aromatic herbs.

You will enjoy the rooftop terrace with stunning panoramic views of the valley, where you will be served welcoming, refreshing traditional mint tea and a local organic breakfast.

About Berbers

Berbers are the indigenous people of North Africa and are known for their friendliness and kind hospitality. In the 7th century, the Arabs invaded North Africa and forced Berbers to assimilate; they often sought refuge in the high Atlas Mountains. Berbers adopted Islam as their primary religion but have their very own language and other charming customs unique to them.

The place was very welcoming and feeling at home. We enjoyed as a family eating the traditional cuisine couscous and tagine. I really enjoyed the food 😋. Morocco is such a beautiful country with humble people and I wouldn't mind to visit again. God bless Morocco 🇲🇦. Clean African country.

I truly unique Moroccan experience within the barber villages up in the Atlas mountains. Right from the moment we met Karim we know we were in good hands. His hospitality never stopped from the moment we got in, to the moment we left. The house is beautiful with a spectacular rooftop patio area comfortable beds and great meals. The home is located in a perfect spot to hike the Atlas Mountains, and we spent a few days there seeing the most beautiful landscapes. All the berber villages we hiked through we met nothing but happy, friendly berber residents.I would definitely stay again with Karim at his house. Out of all the places I stayed in Morocco, his was truly the most authentic and memorable place.Thank you Karim!

We have known Karim for a few years. He is the most warm, hospitable, kind and generous host and friend. My family and I stayed at the lodge for a few days and it was one of the most relaxing stays we had in Morocco. The place is so peaceful, in a great location for local excursions. We had amazing breakfasts on the roof terrace with an amazing view. Karim taught us how to cook some traditional dishes too. We walked around the mountains and visited village locals who are very welcoming. You will love staying at Ourika Lodge........

A nice terrace for Meditation and Mindfulness.I spent a couple of days in this lodge and enjoyed a relaxed evening in the terrace with an aromatic tea, and organic fruits we bought in the Souk.Peaceful place, in my case it really was “The healing Place” since it has been a while since I didn’t have some good sleeping.I will be back soon…Thanks Karim and good Job

My first trip to visit the Ourika Valley was in 2010z. I had the good fortune to be guided by Karim. I have since been back twice and stayed at his excellent lodge in Anrar, a small village in the heart of the Ourika Valley. Karim’s recently built lodge is perched on a hillside overlooking The Valley and boating magnificent views from its rooftop terrace. But the best part of staying at Ourika Lodge is Karim’s and his staff’s Berber hospitality. This is a great place to relax and enjoy all that this region has to offer. Thank you, Karim. Shukran!
